The 2024 School Assembly

This year, during the WFF flagship event, the Junior World Food Day (JWFD) and the WFF's School Assembly joined forces to host the 2024 School Assembly x JWFD event at FAO Headquarters, in Rome. The general theme for this year's WFF is “Good food for all, for today and tomorrow”, complemented by this year's WFD theme, “Right to foods, for a Better Life and a Better Future”.

This year, the School Assembly had an interesting twist: during the Assembly, students embarked on an exciting journey and engaged in an interactive quiz related to FAO's Four Betters, presented by various guests and speakers.

School Assembly 2023

In 2023, the YUNGA School Assembly hosted approximately 600 children on-site and many more online to learn about FAO’s work and the importance of bettering production, nutrition and environment to achieve a better life for all. All participants engaged in a learning and fun journey built around FAO’s 4 Betters and composed of interactive sections and quizzes, presentations, videos and musical performances.

The 2023 YUNGA School Assembly was themed around a journey in the waters of the 4 Betters in order to reach Better Life. Students had to answer questions from guests and participants to pursue the journey. After the Assembly, the children embarked on a more personal journey by jumping from one station to the other, held in the FAO building, by FAO staff (Fisheries, OCB, ESN, ESA-Economics, NFO-Forestry Divisions).
