2024 Startup Innovation Awards Finalists Announcement

The World Food Forum (WFF) Startup Innovation Awards, powered by Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) are a global startup competition that highlights and supports young innovators using technology to transform agrifood systems, aiming to end hunger and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

For the fourth edition, we received 486 application submissions from 45 countries across four award categories: Digital Innovation in Food Processing, Food Loss, Empowering Women in Agrifood Systems, and “Good Food for All, for Today and Tomorrow”. In the Semi-Finals, 35 startups pitched, and 8 finalists have been selected by expert judges.

These finalists will pitch their startups live at the Startup Innovation Awards Finals during the 2024 World Food Forum flagship event held at the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) headquarters in Rome, Italy, on 16 October.

The 8 finalists selected to present their innovative solutions are:

  • Energy Assured (Nigeria)

Food Loss

  • Altered Carbon (UK)
  • Duhqa (Kenya)

Good Food for All, for Today and Tomorrow

  • BettaF!sh (Wunderfish) (Germany)
  • SenzAgro Solutions (Sri Lanka)
