Gastronomic CineSustainability: A French Approach

In collaboration with the Institut Français – Centre Saint-Louis, the World Food Forum (WFF)'s Global Youth Action Initiative is hosting a special screening of "Hortus!" by Maël Henaff - winner of the Best Documentary film at the 2023 WFF film festival.
This documentary takes you behind the scenes of Le Clos des Sens, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Annecy. The film follows Chef Laurent Petit, who draws inspiration not only from his kitchen, but also from a nearby garden where gardener Lionel Perron cultivates a wide variety of produce that directly contributes to the restaurant’s seasonal, nature-driven menu.
The screening will be introduced by director Maël Henaff and followed by an intergenerational panel discussion with experts from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and other external partners. Together, they will explore the fundamental connections between gastronomy, sustanability and agrifood systems.
