About the WFF Bangladesh Youth Chapter
The World Food Forum (WFF) Bangladesh Youth Chapter is a youth-led national platform aligned with the global mission of WFF. It serves as a catalyst for youth engagement in the agrifood systems, bringing together young people, institutions and stakeholders to address challenges related to food security, nutrition and sustainable agriculture in Bangladesh.

A sustainable, inclusive and climate-resilient agrifood systems in Bangladesh, driven by empowered and innovative youth.
Mission
To mobilize, empower and connect youth across Bangladesh to actively participate in transforming the agrifood systems through innovation, capacity building, partnerships and policy engagement.
Launch
The Chapter was officially established during the 2023 WFF flagship event at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) headquarters in Rome and have since grown their membership to over 100 individuals and engaged with over 1 000 young people across Bangladesh. They continue to expand their network and engage with key stakeholders within the country.

Initiatives
#FromHerField Online Campaign
Women play a crucial role in Bangladesh’s agricultural sector, contributing significantly to food production, household nutrition and rural livelihoods. Across crop production, livestock management, fisheries and homestead gardening, rural women are active agents of agricultural development. However, despite their contributions, many women farmers remain under-recognized and face barriers such as limited access to land ownership, financial services, agricultural technologies, markets and decision-making platforms.
Recognizing the importance of amplifying the voices and contributions of women farmers, the Chapter launched “From Her Field” in March 2026 – a storytelling campaign that places a spotlight on the stories of women farmers from around the world.
The campaign will showcase their resilience, innovations, challenges and leadership in building sustainable and inclusive food systems.
Workshops on Bangladeshi agrifood systems
Bangladesh has made notable progress in improving national agricultural productivity and food accessibility. However, the country continues to face various challenges: climate variability, soil and water resource degradation, post-harvest losses and an increasing demand for food. These challenges, coupled with the growing call for sustainability, equity and resilience in the face of climate change, require action towards the transformation of agrifood systems. Youth are central to this. With their innovative potential, digital skills and energy, they can champion sustainability and inclusiveness within agrifood systems. The Chapter seeks to harness this energy by engaging young people in dialogue and co-creating actionable solutions. The Chapter is designing workshops to act as a platform for youth, students and early-career professionals to co-develop a transition pathway for Bangladesh’s agrifood system. These would align with FAO’s Four Betters (Better Production, Better Nutrition, Better Environment and Better Life) and contribute to the national agenda of ensuring food security for future generations and eventually feeding into global action.Active partnerships and collaborations
