À propos du Chapitre national

As an archipelagic nation with over 17 000 islands and a population exceeding 270 million, Indonesia holds immense potential to lead innovations in agrifood systems. Despite ongoing efforts, challenges caused by changing consumption patterns and increasing food demands driven by population growth and urbanization persist (Indonesia Food Systems Summit Dialogues, 2021).

Addressing these necessitates a critical focus on youth involvement, the World Food Forum Indonesia National Chapter aims to tackle these issues by accelerating the transformation of agrifood systems through profound youth engagement and strategic collaboration with institutions like FAO Indonesia.

With the vision of "becoming a dynamic platform that fosters collaboration and growth among diverse youth stakeholders, driving towards a sustainable Indonesian agrifood systems", the national chapter's mission and objectives are to:

  • Increase youth participation in the agrifood system through diverse initiatives, including but not limited to, the regeneration of young farmers and the engagement of all related actors.
  • Establish a national umbrella platform for inclusive open-dialogue discussions in line with the World Food Forum's theme.
  • Support Indonesia in implementing the Indonesian Strategic National Pathway for Food System Transformation.

The WFF Indonesia Youth Chapter is proud to announce the formation of its team. After months of careful selection, the organization has assembled a group of dedicated young individuals from diverse backgrounds, including agriculture students, researchers, practitioners and enthusiasts from across Indonesia. The chapter aims to support Indonesia’s agrifood systems development through collaborative action with the government, academia, agricultural practitioners and civil society, while empowering the younger generation to actively engage in Indonesia’s agrifood systems.

To achieve this goal, the organization has structured its team into six divisions: the Board of Directors, Science and Innovation, Advocacy, Action, Community and Media and Communication.

Now that the team has been established, the chapter is ready to embark on its journey to drive meaningful change in Indonesia's agrifood systems.
