Announcing the 2024 WFF Startup Innovation Awards Semi-Finalists
The WFF Startup Innovation Awards (SIA), powered by Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) are a global startup competition established to support and showcase young innovators and entrepreneurs who are harnessing the power of technology to drive the sustainable transformation of agrifood systems in support of ending global hunger and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
We are excited to announce the completion of the first-round evaluation of applicants for the fourth edition of the Awards. We received 468 applications from 53 countries across four award categories: Digital Innovation in Food Processing, Empowering Women in Agrifood Systems, Food Loss and Good Food for All, for Today and Tomorrow. After evaluation from experts around the world, 35 semi-finalists have been selected.
The selection process was not easy, given the high standard of youth-led startups who applied. The semi-finalists who have been selected have created a range of potentially game-changing solutions in support of agrifood systems transformation. These inspiring young innovators and entrepreneurs will be invited to pitch their projects for an expert jury in September.
