The 2024 World Food Forum’s Global Youth Action Initiative year-end report is out!

The World Food Forum (WFF)’s Global Youth Action Initiative (Youth Initiative) is proud to announce the release of its 2024 year-end report, capturing a year of youth-led action, innovation and global partnership for more inclusive, resilient and sustainable agrifood systems.
Throughout the year, tens of thousands of young people were engaged through workshops, consultations, competitions, campaigns and training programmes. From rural communities to university campuses, their passion fueled impactful dialogues, youth-led innovations and policy contributions at every level.
The 2024 cycle saw the launch of the very first Sustainable Gastronomy Week, two decentralized Youth Food Labs supporting emerging innovators and the expansion of the WFF Youth Initiative's global reach with over 21 National Youth Chapters established - each driving local action and fostering community-driven solutions. Hundreds of Youth Assembly consultations ensured that youth perspectives helped shape key global forums, from the High-Level Political Forum and the Committee on World Food Security to the FAO Committees on Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture.
From supporting new education projects to mentoring early-stage startups, the WFF Youth Initiative’s activities this year spanned science, policy, innovation and culture -each reinforcing the critical role of youth in building sustainable and inclusive agrifood systems.
The flagship event that took place between 14 – 18 October 2024, united youth leaders, researchers, policymakers and innovators in a celebration of collaboration, with meaningful outcomes that will shape the road ahead. As the WFF Youth Initiative looks ahead to the 2025 cycle, it continues to call on youth to help transform agrifood systems.
