WFF Costa Rica Youth Chapter participates in Youth Nutrition Dialogue Fellowship workshop in Nigeria

From 14 to 17 July 2026, the World Food Forum (WFF) Costa Rica Youth Chapter participated in the Youth Nutrition Dialogue Fellowship Global Onboarding Workshop in Lagos, Nigeria. Organized as part of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement’s Youth Nutrition Dialogue Fellowship, the workshop brought together young leaders from Cambodia, Chad, Costa Rica, Madagascar, Namibia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Rwanda to strengthen youth leadership and capacities to support inclusive dialogue and action on nutrition.

The workshop provided participants with practical tools to facilitate inclusive nutrition dialogues and engage communities, particularly groups that have historically faced barriers to meaningful participation. Sessions addressed nutrition, project design, child protection, safeguarding and rights-based approaches to working with adolescents and young people.

The workshop also created space for participants to exchange experiences from their respective countries. Discussions highlighted common challenges related to food security and nutrition, including structural inequalities affecting communities in different contexts. Participants explored how youth-led approaches can contribute to addressing these challenges while promoting more inclusive, safe and participatory processes.

Beyond the technical sessions, the workshop strengthened connections among young leaders from different regions and provided opportunities to identify shared challenges and areas for collaboration. These connections will continue throughout the Youth Nutrition Dialogue Fellowship as they develop their respective projects.

Through its participation in the fellowship, the Chapter is strengthening its capacity to engage in nutrition and agrifood systems processes and contributing to youth-led action.
