WFF National Youth Chapter

About the WFF Peru Youth Chapter
Peru is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, spanning ecosystems from the Amazon rainforest to the Andean highlands and the Pacific coast. With a population of over 34 million, the country boasts rich agrifood systems deeply rooted in its diverse landscapes and cultural heritage. However, despite its natural abundance, Peru faces growing challenges such as climate change, shifting consumption patterns and rising food demands fueled by urbanization and population growth.
Recognizing the importance of meaningful youth engagement in addressing these challenges, the World Food Forum (WFF) Peru Youth Chapter was lunched on 8 April in Lima. Aligned with Peru’s National Youth Policy (Política Nacional de Juventud 2021–2030), the Chapter aims to accelerate agrifood systems transformation by empowering youth to lead change. With the support of partners like the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Country Office in Peru, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) and the National Secretariat of Youth (SENAJU), the Chapter drives action at the intersection of policy, innovation and community.
