The WFF Youth Initiative takes part in the European Youth Event 2025

On 13 and 14 June 2025, the World Food Forum (WFF)’s Global Youth Action Initiative (Youth Initiative) took part in the sixth edition of the European Youth Event (EYE2025) at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France.
In partnership with the United Nations team in Brussels and with the support of the Food and Agriculture organization of the United Nations (FAO) Liaison Office with the European Union and Belgium, the WFF engaged at the UN Stand and co-organized a workshop on Intergenerational Solidarity and Justice, bringing youth voices into discussions on equity, governance and sustainability.
EYE25 brought together thousands of young people from across the European Union (EU) and beyond, offering them a platform to exchange ideas and shape the future of Europe in collaboration with experts, decision-makers and institutions.
At the UN Stand “Shaping Fair Futures”, FAO presented the WFF Youth Initiative and its activities, with a spotlight on the opportunity to establish WFF National Youth Chapters. These Chapters provide a space for young people to actively engage in policymaking, implement community-based solutions and contribute to the transformation of agrifood systems in their countries and regions.
At the UN workshop on “Youth and Future Generations”, Giacomo Marsoner, co-leader of the WFF Italy Youth Chapter, co-organized and moderated the session on “Healthy diets, food habits and the digital divide”. The session explored how access to nutritious food and digital tools varies across generations and regions, as well as the interconnectedness of digital equity and healthy lifestyles.
Participants worked together to identify key barriers and propose inclusive solutions. Youth-driven policy proposals from the session will contribute to a draft policy document to be submitted to the European Commission, with the aim of informing both EU and UN strategies.
Overall, the event provided a valuable space to engage with diverse stakeholders, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for collaboration, while raising awareness about the work of the WFF Youth Initiative.
