Intergenerational policy dialogue on empowering young women in agrifood systems

26/06/2025

The World Food Forum (WFF)'s Youth Assembly is extending an invitation for youth worldwide, interested in gender equality and women's empowerment, to participate in a virtual Intergenerational Policy Dialogue to align youth priorities with those of global experts and institutions.

The dialogue will serve as a platform to discuss the zero draft of the youth recommendations on empowering young women in agrifood systems, developed by the Youth Assembly and its partners through a year-long consultative process.  Ahead of the dialogue, youth are encouraged to include their inputs to the zero draft, ensuring youth voices are heard, discussed and amplified.

Review the zero draft

With opening remarks by United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs, Felipe Paullier, the dialogue will convene members of the WFF Youth Policy Board alongside representatives from leading United Nations entities - including FAO, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and UN Women. The session aims to foster intergenerational dialogue to strengthen and finalize the youth-led recommendations.

Each participating organization will be allocated 10 minutes in a structured, time-bound format to provide feedback on the zero draft. This setup is designed to ensure focused exchanges and meaningful, actionable responses from the youth drafters.

To learn more or contribute your input, contact the WFF Youth Assembly at: [email protected].

Join the dialogue and support the empowerment of young women in agrifood systems.
