Join the World Food Forum Virtual Solutions Session for the Second World Social Summit

The virtual solutions session “Youth-led solutions: Advancing young women and girls’ rights, achieving food security and improving nutrition”, is co-organized by the World Food Forum (WFF) Global Youth Action Initiative hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and UN Women. The session taking place on 6 November 2025, will highlight how youth-led initiatives, particularly those empowering young women, can enhance food security and nutrition, along with contributing to poverty eradication.
This session builds on the launch of the WFF Youth Assembly’s Youth Recommendations Paper: Empowering Young Women in Agrifood Systems at the 2025 High-Level Political Forum, which identified ten priority areas for youth-led and multistakeholder action. It will showcase strong examples of youth-led policy-to-action, advancing the social development pillars and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The session will showcase innovative youth-led initiatives in support of food security and improved nutrition, while addressing structural barriers young women and girls face in accessing resources, technology, leadership and decision-making opportunities.
The programme will feature high-level perspectives from governments, UN agencies and civil society, alongside intergenerational panels spotlighting youth-led solutions from different regions. An interactive segment will provide space for youth constituencies, WFF National Youth Chapters and grassroots actors to share perspectives on enabling policies and partnerships that transform barriers into opportunities.
