Asia and the Pacific
Regional achievements
Since 2022, the WFF Asia and the Pacific Youth Assembly has engaged over 900 young people through eight consultations, identifying five key regional priorities: supporting vulnerable groups, inclusive policies, strengthening domestic production, promoting healthy food and integrating sustainable food education.
Building on this foundation, the 2023-2024 period saw more than 700 participants join nine consultation sessions, refining these priorities to focus on youth opportunities, sustainable practices and local agrifood systems. These efforts have shaped a targeted strategy to address regional challenges and empower young changemakers.

- 2023: Identifying challenges and calls to action
In 2023, the Asia and the Pacific region focused on transforming agrifood systems to promote healthy and sustainable food. Key challenges addressed included the high cost of healthy food and lack of awareness, with ongoing consultations and action plans to improve access to nutritious food and sustainable practices.
- 2024: Narrowing the focus
In 2024, efforts continued to refine strategies for improving access to nutritious food and advancing sustainable practices, setting the stage for the stage for the Global Youth Action Plan (GYAP) 2025-2026.
Regional policy priority for the GYAP
The selected regional priority for the GYAP is to invest in and promote the production, accessibility and consumption of safe and nutritious food for healthy diets. This will be achieved by educating stakeholders, offering capacity development tools and enhancing their understanding of interconnected challenges within agrifood systems.
