Introduction
Overview
The Youth Assembly serves as a year-round open and inclusive platform for young people to co-create and engage in discussions about various agrifood systems related issues. It brings together young individuals, youth entities, organizations and constituencies to discuss specific policy topics or issues within agrifood systems and develop joint recommendations or solutions.
Youth Assembly sessions include:
- Dialogues to address regional policy challenges;
- Global youth consultations on agrifood systems related topics or action plans;
- Sessions to outline youth priorities that could feed into relevant conferences or fora;
- Progress assessments on declarations or commitments made by policymakers;
- Intergenerational dialogues on different cross-cutting topics related to agrifood systems and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Mission
Our mission is clear – cultivating a space where youth voices echo resilience, innovation and inclusiveness. The Youth Assembly is a place where ideas flourish and actions speak louder than words. We believe in the power of collective action to bring about positive change in agrifood systems globally. It is a unique opportunity for young minds to converge, discuss policy matters, and exchange diverse perspectives and experiences. The Youth Assembly serves as the epicenter of our collective efforts, creating a ripple effect that reverberates throughout the year.

2024 cycle of the Youth Assembly
In 2024, we are breaking new ground! For the first time, the Youth Assembly will extend its impact beyond the WFF annual flagship event, by hosting virtual sessions regularly throughout the year to delve into important topics and conferences that play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our agrifood systems. This will ensure that youth voices are heard and actively contribute to ongoing policy discussions and debates.
The 2024 cycle of the Youth Assembly culminates at the World Food Forum flagship event in a hybrid format from 14 to 18 October, with follow-up sessions until December. This will serve as the cumulation of our year-long efforts, discussions and collaborative initiatives.
Objectives
In 2024, the Youth Assembly will have three main objectives:
- Co-creating and conduction regional and thematic sessions throughout the year with all interested young individuals and youth entities on various agrifood systems related topics;
- Consulting the the Global Youth Action Plan 2025-26 with youth groups across the world;
- Inspiring local leaders and WFF National Youth Chapters to take action based on the policy recommendations made in Youth Assembly sessions.
